- We are looking for volunteers to help with technical requirements at Glory during in-person worship services. The most pressing need is for someone who is willing to turn on a video camera and point it in the right direction! Please contact Pat Becker if you are interested in volunteering your expertise and/or time to help out.

FULFILLING GOD’S VISION FOR OUR LAND: THE NEXT CHAPTER
Dear Glory Family,
We hope this letter finds you and your family well and that, in spite of the new normal with Covid, you’ve enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and family time.
As we are now half-way through our fundraising campaign, we thought it’s time to provide an update.
There is good news on a couple of fronts.
First and foremost, we are over half-way to our goal amount of $300,000. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and generosity!
The second piece of good news is that a donor family has come forward with a sizeable donation. Now that we have reached $150,000 (we are at $185,480.03 now), a 2:1 matching donation will kick in. For every $2 donated, the family will give a matching $1 donation, to a maximum of $50,000. This is a great opportunity to maximize your donation if you have not already given, or are able to give more.
We have also had a question regarding donating stocks and bonds and the associated tax implications. This may apply to a smaller number of people, but given that it’s not a widely understood process, we thought we would provide a bit of information.
If you own stocks or bonds that have appreciated in value, you would normally be required to pay taxes on the gains when you sell. If you donate those stocks or bonds to a registered charity, you pay no taxes and get the full value of the donation.
For example, if you purchased stocks or bonds for $5000 and they have now appreciated to $15,000, when you sell them you would pay taxes on a portion of the $10,000 gain. If you donate them to a registered charity, you pay no taxes and you get a tax credit for the full $15,000 donation. The tax credit can be spread over 5 years if you are unable to use the full tax credit in the donation year. If this applies to you and you would like to know more about the process, please contact Aroon Sequeira at 780-901-9469 or [email protected].
We are thankful for your generosity and continued prayers. We look forward in expectant anticipation of how God will use this beautiful land for His purpose in our lives and the lives of the community around us.
God’s richest blessing on you and your family!
Respectfully,
The Glory Fundraising Committee.
