In keeping with its mission of “reaching out,” Glory Lutheran Church has helped sponsor families in difficult circumstances abroad, finding homes and support for them in our communities.
The first family to be sponsored, from Myanmar, spent a year and a half in Sherwood Park, where they settled into life in Canada. They have since moved to Saskatoon in order to be closer to their relatives.
Glory is currently sponsoring a Syrian family recently arrived from Jordan. The family is doing well with the help of congregational members and family already in Edmonton. We are also, along with several Edmonton churches, co-sponsoring another Syrian family, who are adjusting very well to their new lives here.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve God in this way.
