Welcome & CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS
Almighty God our Father, your generous goodness comes to us new every day. By the work of your Spirit lead us to acknowledge your goodness, give thanks for your benefits, and serve you in willing obedience, through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.
Amen
Amen
Blessed be the holy Trinity, one God,
who creates, redeems, and sustains us and all of creation. Amen. Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another. Silence is kept for reflection |
Faithful God,
Have mercy on us. We confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We turn from your loving embrace and go our own ways. We pass judgement on one another before examining ourselves. We place our own needs before those of our neighbours. We keep your gift of salvation to ourselves. Make us humble, cast away our transgressions, and turn us again to life in you through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. Amen. |
God hears the cries of all who call out in need,
and through his death and resurrection, Christ has made us his own. Hear the truth that God proclaims: Your sins are forgiven in the name of Jesus Christ. Led by the Holy Spirit, live in freedom and newness to do God’s work in the world. Amen. |

OFFERTORY Prayer
Blessed are you, O God, maker of all things.
You have set before us these gifts of your good creation.
Prepare us for your heavenly banquet, nourish us with this rich food and drink, and send us forth to set tables in the midst of a suffering world, through the bread of life, Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.

AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU!
We are looking for volunteers to help with technical requirements at Glory: recording church services (audio and visual), possibly projecting parts of the worship service with projector and laptop, as well as learning how to operate the sound system at Glory. Do you have any expertise in these areas that you would be willing to share? Are you interested in volunteering your expertise and/or time to help out? (Training will be provided if needed.) Please contact Pat Becker.

FULFILLING GOD’S VISION FOR OUR LAND: THE NEXT CHAPTER
Dear Glory Family,
We hope this letter finds you and your family well and that, in spite of the new normal with Covid, you’ve enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and family time.
As we are now half-way through our fundraising campaign, we thought it’s time to provide an update.
There is good news on a couple of fronts.
First and foremost, we are also half-way to our goal amount of $300,000. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and generosity!
The second piece of good news is that a donor family has come forward with a sizeable donation. Now that we have reached $150,000 (we are at $151,345.03 now), a 2:1 matching donation will kick in. For every $2 donated, the family will give a matching $1 donation, to a maximum of $50,000. In simple terms, this means that we only need to raise $100,000 more to reach our goal. This is a great opportunity to maximize your donation if you have not already given, or are able to give more.
We have also had a question regarding donating stocks and bonds and the associated tax implications. This may apply to a smaller number of people, but given that it’s not a widely understood process, we thought we would provide a bit of information.
If you own stocks or bonds that have appreciated in value, you would normally be required to pay taxes on the gains when you sell. If you donate those stocks or bonds to a registered charity, you pay no taxes and get the full value of the donation.
For example, if you purchased stocks or bonds for $5000 and they have now appreciated to $15,000, when you sell them you would pay taxes on a portion of the $10,000 gain. If you donate them to a registered charity, you pay no taxes and you get a tax credit for the full $15,000 donation. The tax credit can be spread over 5 years if you are unable to use the full tax credit in the donation year. If this applies to you and you would like to know more about the process, please contact Aroon Sequeira at 780-901-9469 or [email protected].
We are thankful for your generosity and continued prayers. We look forward in expectant anticipation of how God will use this beautiful land for His purpose in our lives and the lives of the community around us.
God’s richest blessing on you and your family!
Respectfully,
The Glory Fundraising Committee.
